The project was decided on after realising the poor conditions as well as the amount of unemployment and the single parenting in the community of 7th Avenue squatter camp in Mossel Bay. Also the inability of a large part of the community to sustain the well-being of their children and families by providing essential basic means of life. There is a common lack of ability in a very large group of this community to provide in the children and families basic needs. One of the main causes for this state of affairs in the 7th Avenue squatter camp is unemployment and Liquor or drug related abuse.  Innocent children who can't provide in their own needs and who are dependent from their parents  assistance are mainly the victims.
